North Memorial Shield

The Memorial Shield was presented to the Chapter by founder member Bro. Andy Rankin at the end of 2022 and serves to preserve the memory of our members who have passed to the Grand Lodge above.

The Shield will be presented to a member of the chapter on an annual basis to recognise their dedication and commitment to the Widows Sons.

First Recipient of the Memorial Trophy – Bro. Willie MacDougall ~ Lodge St. John No.1021

Presented to Bro. Willie MacDougall by President Bro. Ross Fraser in January 2023 for recognition of his efforts & dedication to both Widows Sons Scotland & Scottish Freemasonry during 2022.  Since joining Widows Sons Bro. MacDougall has taking up the role of North Piper & Road Marshall within the chapter, took the initiative in producing a Scottish Rite Patch for members and assisted in many other activities.


2024 ~ Brother Ian Shewan ~ Lodge Morton No.89

Presented to Bro. Ian Shewan by Bro. Willie MacDougall at the TTT Rally in Orkney for recognition of his efforts & dedication to both Widows Sons Scotland & Scottish Freemasonry. Bro. Shewan joined Widows Sons in 2017 and was the Lone member in Shetland for several years. Through his hard work and dedication to WSS North Chapter has a strong presence on Shetland with several members who have established their own identity as the 60 North Sons of Valhalla with there own management structure and they do excellent work promoting Freemasonry, Widows Sons and supporting Local Charities.


2025 ~ Brother Danny Bisset ~ Lodge Seaforth No.854

Presented to Bro. Danny Bisset by President Bro. Norman Daniel for his dedication to Freemasonry & Widows Sons Scotland. Since joining WSS Danny has been a stalwart of the Chapter, offering hospitality and looking after Brothers with his catering and amazing culinary and smoker skills during ride outs and functions and going out his way to assist and look after brothers who have had misfortune on the road.
